JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was a spectator at practice Wednesday, giving his sprained right shoulder time to heal while insisting he will “do anything I can to be out there and play.”Lawrence wore a wristband and held a play-calling sheet during practice, though, an indication he’s planning to play when the Jaguars (8-7) host Carolina (2-13) on Sunday. But Lawrence acknowledged that this injury is different from the others he’s dealt with this season.“This is a little unique ’cause it’s the throwing shoulder, which can make things a little more challenging as a quarterback,” Lawrence said. “Kind of hard to work around that.”Lawrence sprained his AC joint while diving for a first down on a fourth-and-1 play in the third quarter of Sunday’s 30-12 loss at Tampa Bay. He could barely lift his arm in the locker room after the game.He was ineffective before he got hurt, throwing two interceptions and losing a fum...Man United set to enter a new Ratcliffe era with spotlight on January transfers and Ten Hag’s future

There are few surprises in the final installment of Best Bets, as most of the players herein have been fixtures throughout the season. It’s time to stick with the players who have been there all season, as we near the end of the fantasy football year. These are my best bets to score in Week 17.___Running BackKYREN WILLIAMS, RAMSWilliams’ fantasy production is consistent, as he had more than 100 yards and a score against New Orleans. He now has five total TDs in his past five games, and he’s set to capitalize this week on a matchup with the Giants, our fourth-best matchup for opposing backs. He’s third in total TDs (12) for RBs, but with four fewer games than the leaders, Williams has -125 odds to score, the second-best odds for any back in WK17. The 36.94% TD dependent Williams has a good chance to reach the end zone against the Giants.CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, 49ERSIt’s no surprise McCaffrey makes the final list of the season, as he’s been on the list most weeks it seems. DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Thousands of Palestinian families fled Wednesday from the brunt of Israel’s expanding ground offensive into Gaza’s few remaining, overcrowded refuges, as the military launched heavy strikes across the center and south of the territory, killing dozens, Palestinian health officials said.On foot or riding donkey carts loaded with belongings, a stream of people flowed into Deir al-Balah — a town that normally has a population of around 75,000. It has been overwhelmed by several hundred thousand people driven from northern Gaza as the region was pounded to rubble.Because U.N. shelters are packed many times over capacity, the new arrivals set up tents on sidewalks for the cold winter night. Most crowded onto streets around the town’s main hospital, Al-Aqsa Martyrs, hoping it would be safer from Israeli strikes.Still, no place is safe in Gaza. Israeli offensives are crowding most of the population into Deir al-Balah and Rafah at the territory’s southern edg...YouTuber ayuda a encontrar restos humanos que se cree pertenecen a un hombre desaparecido desde 2013

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — The scenario is too far-fetched for even Brock Glenn to have thought about: A third-string, true freshman quarterback gets to take the field to lead Florida State into an Orange Bowl with a shot at an undefeated season. It’s beyond even his imagination.“If you would’ve told me this would happen, this story, I wouldn’t believe you,” Glenn said.Believe it. The scenario is his reality now, and he gets what he calls “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” on Saturday when No. 4 Florida State (13-0, No. 5 College Football Playoff rankings) takes on No. 6 Georgia (12-1, No. 6 CFP) in the Orange Bowl.Glenn got the job because Jordan Travis, who led Florida State into national-title contention, is out with a broken leg and former backup Tate Rodemaker — who likely would have started the Orange Bowl — opted out and is seeking a transfer.“The Orange Bowl is an awesome bowl. It’s one of the best in the country,” Glenn said. “And we’ve got a great opportunity in front of ...Man dead, woman rescued after helicopter crashes into SW Miami-Dade canal, police say

Around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, video footage showed Southwest Airlines Flight 1416 grounded at a terminal at the airport. The flight was on its way to Austin, Texas when it struck a bird in the air just after takeoff, at around 11:45 a.m.A statement released by the airline said that the pilots were able to land safely and evacuated all 145 passengers.
